RUBY’ JOURNAL
Hi Everyone,
HALLOWEEN – WHAT FUN! Mom gave me a treat bag to wear around my neck to collect my treats in. (I was hoping for only “liver”, but got peanut butter instead). It was exhausting running to the door to greet everyone. While I was taking a short nap, a princess and a clown asked for ME! Mom handed out candy while I passed out kisses. It was fun following them out to the driveway and seeing them go to the next house. (I didn’t go past the white flags!)
I am signed up for a new class with Sam – Basic Obedience? I have been trying to be obedient, but Mom thinks I turn off my “hearing aid” when she calls me and I don’t come? Mom and Dad went to the class, WITHOUT ME! I don’t know why I couldn’t go, because I would like to hear what Sam told them? They came home with some “weird” new ideas! Sam must have told them I should work for the food I get? (I thought blinking my big brown eyes , giving kisses and being “cute” was thank you enough?) SOO, now I get my food in a “purple flying saucer”?? Well, it really isn’t a flying saucer, it’s a “twist ‘n treat” dispenser. NOW, isn’t that the dumbest thing you have ever heard of? I was kind of afraid of it at first, because when I jumped on it nothing happened, so I thought if I barked at it the food would fall out? After Dad read the instructions, (when all else fails) it started to spit out food! YEA – now when I just step on it – I can eat. It keeps me occupied for longer than just dumping food in a dish and “woofing” it down. Maybe Dad thinks this will cure my “un-lady like” belching? No guarantees!
I went to see Gram and Brady Boy. Gram fell down and got quite “bruised up”. (Now I know what a “shiner” is!) Brady Boy likes to play with me, maybe he thinks I’m a CAT! He lets me play with his toys too, but he needs his nails trimmed! Mom cuts mine, maybe she will cut his, (even if he doesn’t want them filed, they could be trimmed)?
Bea brought Uncle Bob down? Uncle Bob takes her for a walk in the field, and she ends up at my house! She hasn’t been playing much lately, maybe I should get my Frisbee out and she can teach me how to catch it? I would like to play with her, even if she does smell like a SKUNK! I would be a better choice to chase than a skunk!
