Hi Everyone,
I DID IT!!! I DID IT!! I knew I could, but I never had a chance to “dog paddle”.
It was kind of hot the other day, and Misty came to stay while Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard went to a party. Dad said we might go for ice cream, and Uncle Howard said Misty likes ice cream? (I have never tried it?)
Dad had another thought when we started to go for ice cream? Maybe we could go to the “bay” for a swim? Misty was panting a lot, so she looked like she would like to take a swim. Well, if you remember, Misty wouldn’t get in the swimming pool when we were at “Cav Camp”?
Mom and Dad put on their water shoes, because the beach has a lot of stones. I don’t have any water shoes? Guess my feet are big enough (and tough enough) to slide over the stones. Do water shoes keep your feet warm?
It took a lot of coaching to get Misty in the water, (I have had more experience)! But she started to follow me and realized it wasn’t so bad? While we were walking in the water we found some deep spots and in order to keep our heads above water – we had to dog paddle! I knew we could do it! What’s more natural – a dog doing a dog paddle!
Anyway, we paddled around for a while and Dad went back to the car to get some towels for us. Misty started to cry a little, and then she started shivering. When I saw her, she made me shiver too! Dad and Mom wrapped each one of us in a towel and dried us off – so the sand wouldn’t stick to us. When we finally got dried off, we could “shake” the rest of the water off.
You can imagine, we weren’t panting anymore! It was more fun than the first time, so maybe Misty will have more fun the next time?
Have a happy Labor Day – and maybe you can try the “dog paddle”?
Love and kisses,
Ruby
