Hi Everyone,
When Mom got up Saturday morning and looked out the window, she said it was time to get the “Tubbs” out? Well, I didn’t think it was time to get a bath? I found out what “Tubbs” are – they are big feet! She said they are snowshoes and they help you walk on top of all the snow? They looked like duck feet to me! I got to go out and watch her walk with the duck feet on while Dad was blowing out the driveway. It was a heavy wet snow (17”) so Dad made me a “bombs away” path. Mom grabbed her pole that she uses to put Christmas lights on the pine trees? Is it time for Christmas again? No, she said we were going to “save the trees”? I have heard of saving a tree, but I thought it was not wasting paper! When Mom poked the trees with her pole, lots of snowballs fell off! I love to eat snowballs, but there were so many I couldn’t eat them all! I had a lot of fun playing in the deep snow, but when I tried to make my own path I sunk down to my belly and got scared – I cried because I couldn’t get out! After that I just followed the duck footprints. I do have big feet, but maybe I need snowshoes too? Dad said not to bother trying to get the snow off of some of the trees – they were damaged too much. Some of them were bent in half and split so they will have to be cut down. Dad said we should be thankful we only lost a few trees, some people down south lost their homes in the tornados!
Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard lost power Friday night until early Sunday morning, and couldn’t get out of their garage – until they got plowed out! I invited Misty to come and stay with me, but they said the fireplace was keeping them warm. When Dad went to the hospital for a test Saturday, Mom went too. They had to take a detour because of all of the fallen trees and downed power lines. After the test they picked up Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard to go out and eat. You can’t cook without electricity and you can’t eat anything out of a can – if all you have is an electric can opener! Misty and I had to stay home!
Before the storm I went to see Misty, she is starting to play with me a lot more. Mom made us matching coats. St.Patrick’s Day green with shamrocks! We look soooo good in green!
I had a “puppy” week – again? Mom thought I was a teenager – but I’m still a puppy! Mom was sorting through her yarn drawer to find some yarn to make a hat for a neighbor, so I thought I would help her clean up her sewing stuff. I tipped over the wastebasket where she puts her material scraps, but before I could drag too much away – she caught me! While she was picking up the scraps I thought I would pick out some yarn for her – she didn’t like me hauling that out on the floor either? Some days you just can’t do anything right!
Love and Puppy Kisses,
Ruby
