RUBY’S JOURNAL
Hi Everyone,
I’M BAAACK! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I didn’t get into too much trouble. Annie and I made our own ornaments, paw prints. We had to push a paw into some white stuff. Boy are my feet big compared to Annie’s. After Mom hung Annie’s on the tree, she came out one morning and found me playing with it! I only took the ribbon off and had one bite before she caught me! I also ate two lights off of my Christmas coat! I also found a new friend, his name is Tyler. I never met a four year old before, but after he stopped calling me “boy” we got along just fine. He played with me so much I had to get in my crate to rest? That didn’t last long, he came and got me out. He didn’t like puppy kisses at first, but when he put me on the sofa and put a pillow under my head I had to give him more kisses.
OKAY (that’s my release word for everything). The “secret” is out so now I can blab! I’m getting a new sister! Well, not at MY house, Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard are adopting a Ruby Cavalier! I was so excited when I heard about it, and I wanted to be one of the first to meet her. I went with Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard to help pick her out! I had a hard time choosing just one – I liked them all! Anyway, her name is Misty and she will be arriving in a couple weeks. She is soooo lucky! Mom and Dad brought her a toy from Florida – I hope it’s not an alligator – Mom said she saw enough alligators to last for a LONG time!
While Mom and Dad were in Florida I spend my “staycation” at Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard’s so I know Misty will have a great home! I tried to be on my best behavior, because Dad whispered the word “kennel” in my ear just before he left? Don’t tell Dad, but when I went on errands with them, Uncle Howard stayed in the car with me and left the “heater” on, Dad leaves me in the car alone! I also got to watch TV lying on Aunt Deb’s lap – with a blanket on – and I slept in their bedroom! It was hard going back to a ‘lonely” room by myself when I got home! I had a little trouble with Scarlett, (her version would be a little different) but after she hit me with her right jab – on my nose – I realized she was the boss in that house! After I calmed down, we started getting along better – she was looking for me after I left? Probably missed me? Misty will get along better with her, since she will be smaller and slower? I tried the same tactic on Annie, but it “bugs” me when she drinks out of MY water dish, eats MY food when I leave some, and plays with MY toys! I know she plays with my toys after I go to bed at night, because in the morning they are in different places – and they smell different!
I gave Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard a little “puppy training” so they have some idea what to expect? Getting up at 5:30 A.M. isn’t something they usually do, but we went back to bed after I went out to do my “bombs away”? One night I got so scared, when I went out to do my “bombs away” and had just assumed the “position” when the neighbor opened their garage door and their dogs started barking! I never saw the dogs, but I certainly lost the “urge”. 1-8-12
Love and Puppy Kisses, Ruby
