Hi Everyone,
I went to my first “fair”. (Not the kind with animals, it was an “Art Fair”). It was very “dog friendly”, but not all of the dogs were “friendly”. There were some “big” dogs, but I hid behind Dad’s leg until I found out if they liked me? I don’ think I have ever seen a watermelon? As you can see, there was a watermelon bigger than me! Dad asked the guy in the booth if we could take a picture of me beside it? (I had to look into the bright sun, so it was hard to keep my eyes open!) He said sure, and said I might like to eat it? Well I do like to eat wood, but we didn’t buy it, so I guess I’ll just have to eat the old bark in the yard at home?
There were no booths with dog clothes. I was really looking for a new rain coat, or some ideas for Mom to make a sweater – I didn’t need it today, but I was thinking ahead?
I shopped until I dropped! The last booth had some yard art . The flowers were made out of old tractor parts, the sunflowers were made from disks that the farmers use in the fields, and the birds were made out of old bicycles? This guy said he shops in a lot of scrap yards. That’s what I call “recycle” with a capital “R”! It may have been scrap when he saw it, but when we saw it – it was ART!
I met a lot of people too! One lady said – oh – King Charles? She picked me up and hugged me and let me give her kisses! She said she needed a dog! Well, when she put me down, I didn’t know if Dad was going to hand her my leash and send me home with her or if he would keep me? I have been a less than “perfect pooch” lately?
IT’S A SCAM – DON’T FALL FOR IT! When I hear the doorbell, I get a “little” excited and bark? Then I hear this voice that asks if he can use the phone because his car broke down? Who doesn’t have a cell phone now? This sounded a little suspicious, so I went to look, and there was an eight foot bug at the door? I can tell you right now – he would not get past me! Dad tried to tell me it was only a TV commercial for the Orkin Man, but that bug looked sooo real? We do have some big bugs around, and Mom wanted me to see a “big” mosquito, but I knew it was not real, when she put in on the chair beside me.
Mom talked to our “bug” man, and asked if there was a local “O” Man? She thought if I could meet the big guy that comes to the door, I could make friends with him and not bark at him every time I see him? No such luck, he thought the company sent people from Grand Rapids to cover this area?
Now on to PLAN B!
Love and Kisses,
Ruby
