Hi Everyone,
I waited at Becky and Derrick’s reception to have my picture taken with them. It was so hot the camera shutter stuck – Dad tried to take a picture of Aunt Laurie and Abby with me – but some of it got cut off? I saw the trucks come to cater the dinner, one truck hauled a trailer that said “corn cooker” and another with several charcoal grills on a trailer. I wasn’t very hungry – just thirsty – and I couldn’t wait any longer for the Bride and Groom! I needed A/C!
On to Grand Rapids. I had a nice long ride/nap and got cooled off. The next stop was a motel in Grand Rapids? This was my first time to stay in a motel! When we got to our room, I sniffed every inch of the room then we went outside in the courtyard and I sniffed that real good – WHOA – I smelled the same thing in my room, I guess we shared the same room at one time?
We had to go to Lowe’s and pick up some more paint (the Traverse City store didn’t have any more). While we were there Dad thought Mom should have a new John Deere, so the one in the picture is the one I picked out?
I was real good in the room – I stayed in my crate – with my no bark collar on? I woke up around 5:00 when someone slipped a piece of paper under the door and woofed a couple of times – then I went back to sleep! It was so dark in the room, (blackout drapes) I slept until 8:00 – what a record!
Mom and Dad wanted to go to Church so I went along also. There was a sign in front of a Church we passed that day that said “Hell is Hotter”! When we got in the parking lot Dad found a shady spot and opened all of the windows and the sun roof. I woofed a little (they didn’t understand I didn’t want to wait in the car)? Dad said I couldn’t stay in the car if I was going to bark at everyone that walked by – so back to the motel! I waited in the room while they went back to Church (that made them late for the service, but they found a seat in the overflow room). I didn’t bark while I waited in the room for them to come back. (I still had my no bark collar on.)
After Church we headed to Whitehall for the Family Reunion. There wasn’t a sign in the park that said “no dogs”, so I didn’t have to stay in the car! I met people from 3 months to 86 years old! Of course, they all liked ME! I not only gave kisses – I got kisses too! I was on my best behavior, and didn’t bark!
We finally got home after a few more hours in the car! Dad said the no bark collar wasn’t working, so he might as well take it back? When Mom took the collar off that night and went to turn it “off”, she found out it was NEVER turned “on”? Guess that wasn’t a very good test to see if it will work?
Love and Kisses,
Ruby
