Twas the night before Christmas and all through my den
Decorations abound from the kitchen to my pen
Mom’s been busy hanging decorations with care
I was warned not to touch them, not even to dare!
.
Since it is my first Christmas, I have lots to explore
From those glass things on the tree to lit things outdoors
It brings such excitement as I take in the sight
But Dad says I still need to sleep through the night!
.
I peeked and up on the mantle there appeared
A stocking with my name, so I am of great cheer
It hangs next to one with my mom’s name, Judy
But this one has my name, yes it says RUBY!
.
I wonder what Santa will put in it this year
Dad says worry not and be of good cheer
Christmas Eve is approaching and it will be great
To give “Ruby kisses” to all that await
.
Well, Annie and I should try to make up
I don’t know why she avoids me: I let her drink from my cup
She’s been around for eleven long years
This is my first and it brings joyful tears
.
So because I’m so young I’m trying to learn
This season is special so knowledge I yearn
Well what do I know about this season
Mom and Dad tell me, Jesus is the reason!
.
Thank you to all that have been kind to me
I think of you all as I gaze at the tree
May Jesus fill your lives with great joy
It’s all about Him and not my new toy!
.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND MAY YOU HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS IN HIS NAME!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Love and Puppy kisses, Ruby
