Hi Everyone,
I was trying to take a nap on Dad’s lap, but I’m still having puppy nightmares about Nurse Cratchet at the Vet’s office holding that long skinny thing and poking it up my butt! When I wake up, Mon tells me it’s okay, I don’t have to see her again until August 11th – Whew!
My appetite has been expanding to bugs. Mom opened my mouth and shook my head until a June bug fell out, (isn’t it July?) I didn’t even get to the “crunch” part. The fuzzy caterpillar I tried didn’t agree with me. ( I only had half of it.) I guess they taste bitter so the birds won’t eat them. I don’t think I will try them again, because I threw up all of my lunch!
I had my first bath in my new tub! It wasn’t too bad. I didn’t start shaking until it was almost over. Then I went outside and rolled in the grass to get dry. Maybe next time Dad will let me use his hair dryer. Dad seems to think I need my teeth brushed! He uses a little finger brush – I can bite it. The toothpaste is “poultry flavored”. I don’t know what “poultry” is, but it tastes good!
My cousin Lindsey came to visit for a few days. She hasn’t been around puppies for awhile, (only CATS) but one look at me and she thought I was sooo cute.
Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard went to the Farmer’s Market and got me some home-made biscuits. Boy, I couldn’t stop eating them!
Mom and Dad went to the first Puppy Kindergarten class – without me! I guess it was a “Parenting Class”. I get to go next week. There are two Cavalier’s in the class after mine, even a “Ruby” – can’t wait to meet them.
I met some good friends of Dad’s and Mom’s, John and Joanne VanWie, visiting from Wisconsin Dells (didn’t see any cheese on their heads?). While they were out touring the area I went to spend the day at Pam and Jon’s “Puppy Day Care”. Hannah took me to the Civic Center and I met new four legged friends. I came home sooo tired! They play with me so much I crash fast!
I met Great Gram and Aunt Christi this week. Their house is fun – they have TWO dogs to play with. I behaved pretty good, so maybe I can go back there again,
My Dad found a new “Dog Store”, it’s really a bakery. It was recommended by my kindergarten instructor. The instructor said to bring a “Bully Stick” to class! That didn’t sound like fun, but a Bully Stick is an all “natural” chewy stick. Got a chance to sample it before class and it is really good. Of course, Dad didn’t stop with just one stick, he found other treats there. They even have birthday cakes!
One of the assignments from class is to be exposed to different sounds and places, so I went through the car wash, out of my Pet Taxi! It really is not that scary, I went to sleep on Mon’s lap until we got to the “dryer” part – that was a little loud. When I went to the Laundromat where Jon is moving one his locations there was some construction going on. It was OK though because there were some “little people” that wanted to pet me! They thought I was cute too, but it’s not going to my head!
I keep hearing Dad say I’m not spoiled but people don’t seem to believe him. Of course I think I’m perfect. Dad says I’m pretty good too unless he slips up and forgets to let me out on time, When that happens he has a scowl on his face but I’ve heard him admit to Mom that it was his fault and not mine. Boy, do I have him trained or what???????
Well, I guess that’s about it for now. I’ll be on to new ventures and will report back later.
I love you all and can’t wait to give you puppy kisses the next time I see you!
Puppy love from-
Ruby
