RUBY’S JOURNAL
Hi Everyone,
I have not had anyone to play with lately, but I have met a lot of “people”. I met Aunt Deb, she’s the one that made me the beautiful blanket with my name embroidered on it, and so I gave her lots of puppy kisses. Uncle Howard invited me over to play with Scarlet – like that’s going to happen! Scarlet is a CAT.
I visited Uncle Bob, he is the one that put the “Welcome to your new home – Ruby” sign in the front yard. I couldn’t read it, but I saw the paw prints that Aunt Peg put on the sign and the Kong teddy bear attached, so I knew it was for me! They don’t have a dog, but they have a “Grand Dog” that stays with them a lot. Her name is “B” and she gets good treats, so when I visited I got a sample. Guess I’ll go back!
I wanted Mama Mckenzie to know that when I met a lot of new girls, one of them said: “I was the cutest puppy she had ever seen”.
My training is going better. My Mom made a spreadsheet to record every time I pee, poop, and eat. Sometimes they get fooled!
I found something new to do – dig in the dirt. My Mom digs in the dirt all the time, but I can’t! She says when I know the difference between a flower and a weed – then I can dig.
I went to PetSmart! Boy what a lot of great smells in there. It was kind of embarrassing, because I have a “hand me down” Pet Taxi with Annie’s name on it. (The resident CAT) I couldn’t get out of the crate, so everyone that stopped and looked at me thought my name was Annie!
Met my new Doctor today – he was nice – but not his Assistant! She took my temperature, and I squealed, then she said it didn’t hurt! How did she know how it felt – she was on the giving end – NOT the receiving! The Doctor said there is only one problem owning a Cavalier – you can’t have just ONE! I saw another Cavalier (tri-color) through the window to another examining room. It was his first visit to this Doctor. His first Doctor made a mistake – he “bobbed” Amos’s tail! I don’t want that to happen to me, because I like to chase my tail. I weighted in at 3.6 lbs, and after being poked and squeezed I came out with an “excellent” report. (July 21, 2011)
