RUBY’S JOURNAL 11-15-11
Hi Everyone,
I got to go to Aunt Deb and Uncle Howard’s for a Bible Study. Didn’t really know what to expect? GUESS WHAT? The first thing, I got a WHOLE bag of treats from the D.O.G. Bakery. Beef dog bone cookies, baked liver strips and something that smells like Golden Grahams? Scarlett was supposed to entertain me, (she knew I was coming). But after we touched noses (only because I was being held and Uncle Howard held Scarlett), she hid behind the sofa and just watched me? I didn’t play with her toys, Mom picked up her toy box, so I couldn’t! BUT, I did find an onion to play with from a basket in the dining room, (it was a fake onion, for decoration only). I guess I was too distracting, so I had to go in my crate! I listened to the discussion about prayers and Psalms, and then I guess I fell asleep? The Bible I saw was SO big I know I’m going to have to spend a lot more time at future Bible Studies!
Do you remember what kind of day it was last Wednesday? Well, I sure do! It was about the coldest, rainiest day of my young life. Dad looked at me and said, “Ruby, it’s time for you to get your “big girl” pants on and start to woman up. Winter is coming and we’re going for a walk”. A WHAT, I thought, do you know what kind of a day it is outside? I don’t think he was listening, because the next thing I knew Mom chimes in and tells Dad he has raingear to wear, and I can put my “turkey coat” on? Like, sure, that’s going to be rain and cold proof? So, out we go for what Dad promises will be half of a normal walk? He said, part way into the walk, if I went “bombs away”, I could go back home. Well, I just wasn’t ready, so I had to do the full walk! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I have attached one! See all the “happiness” in my face????NOT! I think Dad saw Bailey and his Mom out for a walk and got this stupid idea! Wait till I see Bailey again, he’s in for it! Well, one thing came out of this, I know what “turkeys” feel like when they are out in this climate. I have a new appreciation for them!
Now that I am maturing, (I’m six months old now) I get to be out of my crate more. I still find things to chew on that I shouldn’t. The other day I was having a good time chewing, when Mom tried to open my mouth and find out what I had found? It was a penny! Sometimes I follow Mom around in the morning and watch her get ready for work. She takes sooo long in the bathroom, and I was sooo bored – I fell asleep! She doesn’t know, I NEED lots of naps!
I’ll update you about my classes later.
Love and Puppy Kisses,
Ruby
