RUBY’S JOURNAL
Hi Everyone,
Happy St. Patrick’s Day
The other day Mom and Dad went shopping and left me home in my crate. Thank goodness Cousin Lindsey was coming to visit for a few days and she got here before Mom and Dad, so I could get out of my crate! Dad usually doesn’t like to go shopping with Mom because she takes too long. But when Dad goes shopping he takes longer! When he finally got home, he had a five door silver bullet and asked me if I wanted to go for a ride and check it out? Well, there was plastic on the seat and my bed kept sliding around, my feet kept slipping off of the armrest, it smelled funny and I couldn’t see out the window! I was not impressed!
The next day he came home with a four door sedan, and asked me if I wanted to go for a ride and check it out? It was a lot better suited to me! I can see out of the window and it is green, (I look so good in green). Mom said it is Coke bottle green, (I don’t know what a green Coke bottle looks like, guess that was before my time) but the real name of the color is Frosted Glass? Who cares what they call it, I look good in it! I went to the Dealership and it took sooo long, I fell asleep on Mom’s lap. When Dad brought a box in with my bed and bully sticks (including a pig’s ear I had hidden real good) I thought I was going to spend the night! Dad said he wanted a car that was more “economical” instead of his SUV? I can run and/or walk ALL day and night on just one cup of food, so I hope he thinks I’m “economical” enough to keep and he won’t trade ME in. (He has threatened to “trade” me in before?) His MPG (miles per gallon) verses my MPG (miles per gut) will need more attention!
Dad will have to “Focus” on being a little more “high tech” when he drives now. He pushed a button and a real nice lady said, “Please say a command”. Guess he didn’t say the right commands because the lady kept repeating the same question! I know Dad knows a lot of commands – he gives them to me all the time– but the lady didn’t understand “sit” and “stand”? Anyway, thanks to Uncle Scott, we are now members of the “Ford Family”? I hope I don’t have to change my name!
I had a great day at class this week. Thanks to Mom’s help I won the Musical Chairs game. When the music was playing, I walked around the edge of the room, and when the music stopped, I had to do a “down stay” while Mom ran to the chairs in the middle of the room! If any of the dogs broke their “down stay” while Sam counted to five, they were out! When there were only two of us left, and one chair, I was PERFECT and Mom was FAST – so we WON!
HappySt.Patrick’s Day – don’t drink too much green beer!
Love and Puppy Kisses,
Ruby
