Hi Everyone,
I DON’T WANT TO PLAY! It’s too hot. While Misty was still here we were trying to stay out of the garage and stay out of Mom’s way when she was painting, but we just couldn’t watch any more paint dry – so we took a nap on the steps. After Misty went home she got sick, ( not throw up sick – the other end sick)! I tried to get her to stop eating all of MY bark, (it’s cedar, and I don’t think she is used to that kind?) plus she was eating the pine needles and fresh pine cones. (The green one’s.) I tried to stop her – but she just runs away when I go after her? I’ve tried that game with Mom and Dad too, they get so tired of chasing and yelling at me they just give up!
I don’t remember my first 4th of July, (I think I spent it in Ludington?) but this year I will remember? The first few fireworks got my attention – and I barked a little, but after a while I got on the sofa with Mom and just took a nap! I’m not the type to hide under the bed and shake!
It has been busy and confusing around here! Plan A – go to Saginaw, on to Saline and Clinton, stop in Willis and Haslett, then on to Grand Rapids and Whitehall? BUT the weather was soooo bad, there was a Plan B?
ROAD TRIP – We didn’t go to Saginaw, just directly to Saline for Cousin Becky’s wedding. I was the only four legged friend Becky invited? The temperature hit triple digits when we got to Saline! The wedding was outdoors in a park? Nobody told me about the dress code, (casual) so I didn’t wear my shorts! I was the only one there (besides the bride) that was properly dressed – I wore my fur coat!
There was a nice breeze (?) in the park, but when it’s over 100 degrees a breeze doesn’t do it! I got my own bottle of water with Becky and Derrick’s name on it! Walking through the park, the grass was crispy under my feet. I thought maybe I could cool off my feet in the river, but it was too muddy? As soon as the ceremony was over, Dad took me to the car and turned on the A/C. We stayed in the car for a long time – it felt soooo good!
Then we went to Aunt Laurie and Uncle Tom’s house in Clinton for the reception. It was 103 at their house! Well, you can imagine, we stayed in the car for a LONG time when we got there. Finally, Dad said he wanted to see Aunt Laurie’s new house, so we walked across another “crispy” yard? We didn’t go inside the house right away – we went around the corner of the house to see the chicken pen? Well, I put on my BRAKES – I am not going near that pen! Mom wanted to take a picture of me with the chickens – but I was chicken! Mom said they were the same color as me and wanted me to stand in front of the pen – NO WAY! They didn’t smell the best, they only had two feet to walk on and their head looked like it was going to fall off – it kept bobbing back and forth! I prefer the chicken we get at KFC!
I’ll have to tell you about the rest of the trip next time – Mom gets mad if I send over one page?
Love and Kisses, Ruby
